Come Play, Learn and Grow

About Ms P & Co.

Welcome to our music and art course website! We offer both in-person and remote lessons that are all about creativity and fun. My teaching philosophy is centered around compassion, collaboration, and connection.

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, into a family rich in Performing Arts and Visual Fine Art. My journey led me to Takoma Park, Maryland, where I discovered my passion for teaching in this vibrant community.

With over 20 years of experience in Classical and Gospel music, and performances in New York, my expertise spans genres like Lofi, Bossa Nova, Jazz, Soul, Afrobeats, Reggae, Pop, Rock, Acapella, R&B, and Folk. By practicing yoga and mindfulness through the years, I developed simple, holistic methods to help students learn music through all their senses by getting grounded.

My teaching method strikes a balance between structured guidance and creative freedom. I start by understanding what the student wants to learn and where they are in their journey. From there, I create a customized curriculum tailored to their needs. While I've explored methods like Suzuki, Reggio Emilia, the Alexander technique, and Montessori, I’ve developed my own holistic approach. This method begins with grounding yourself and progresses to finding your flow through play and experimentation. My goal is to create a learning experience that is both engaging and deeply personal.

Our studio in Wheaton - Silver Spring, Maryland, welcomes students of all ages. I especially enjoy working with creative folks and seeing their joy when they master something new. My teaching style is relaxed, uplifting, and fun, creating a pressure-free environment for everyone and I hire people with a similar or same vibe.

Whether you're interested in private or group lessons, me and my team are here to help you discover and nurture your inner artist. To learn more about our courses or background, please reach out. I look forward to connecting with you!

Cheers,
Ms. P
